Israeli armed forces inflicted deaths and unjustifiable suffering among Palestinian patients when they occupied hospitals in the Gaza Strip throughout the ongoing hostilities, constituting war crimes and human rights abuses.
As reported by Human Rights Watch, witnesses at three hospitals reported that Israeli forces denied electricity, water, food, and medicines to patients; shot civilians; abused health workers; and intentionally destroyed medical facilities and equipment. Unlawful forced evacuations placed patients in extreme danger and left desperately needed hospitals out of action.
