GCRL sent a letter to the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to physical and mental health, The right to mental health for Saudi women

Geneva Council for Rights and Liberties GCRL send a letter to Ms. Tlaleng Mofokeng Special Rapporteur on the right to physical and mental health, about the right to mental health for Saudi women amid challenges and restrictions. The letter clarifies the effects of gender norms on women’s health in Saudi Arabia, it has been demonstrated by several studies that Saudi women are among three main groups that are at high risk of having mental disorders. Through this letter, the Geneva Council wanted to draw the attention of the distinguished  Special Rapporteur to the fact that there are currently many barriers related to the socio-economic status of Saudi women that prevent them from accessing mental health services.
